Lorena has multiple certifications for dog training. She was awarded the elite Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner designation and is additionally accredited by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers as a Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed. These certifications show that Lorena has not only the knowledge but the skills needed to teach you and train your dog. These methods are backed by science and are used the world over with domestic and wild animals.

Lorena is also a Fear Free® Certified Professional. The Fear Free® Initiative's mission is to alleviate fear, anxiety and stress in pets and educate and inspire the people that care for them. Fear Free® focuses on both the physical and emotional well-being of your pets, and aims to take the pet out of petrified. In addition to veterinary professionals, a growing number of pet trainers have committed to becoming Fear Free® certified so they can help you and your pet with positive, Fear Free® training methods.

Most recently, she has earned the Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer designation, continuing to expand her knowledge in the ever-growing field of canine behavior.

Lorena has affiliated herself with international, national, and local groups that encourage the study of behavioral science. These groups don't just require excellence in the field of canine behavior and training; they also require the use of force-free methods in the course of the practice of the profession. Lorena has been hand-picked by Victoria Stilwell, star of "It's Me or the Dog", to join her Victoria Stilwell Positively Dog Training team, a global network of world-class positve reinforcement trainers. She's also a member of the Pet Professional Guild: The Association of Force-Free Pet Professionals, and is also affiliated with Family Paws Parent Education, the premier organization that promotes safety for families with dogs. Lorena's commitment is such that she is one of the founding members of the Central Florida Force-Free Trainers Network, a group of force-free animal behavior specialists in Central Florida who work together to help pets and their owners in the area.

Lorena is involved in programs that bring the knowledge of canine safety to the community. Her work through Victoria Stilwell Positively Dog Training and its Dog Bite Prevention Conferences, Family Paws Parent Education where teaching parents-to-be and parents of young children how to ensure the safety of all at home is the main objective, and through Doggone Safe where she is a licensed presenter for the "Be a Tree" program, teaching schoolchildren safety around dogs, has touched many in the community.
